Testimonial

Mr. Mark L. Drukenbrod, Ph.D. to Savant Audio
November 9, 1999

Just thought I'd drop you a note with an inquiry and a compliment or two.

First, I am seeking another piece of esoterica from my twisted youth. I need to find a pair of Hill Plasmatronics speakers (yeah, I know...it's never easy with me...) with amps and crossovers. I know you have connections, and might know where I might find a pair, even if you aren't interested in finding them and selling them to me. I am prepared for the financial consequences. Let me know.

On to the compliments. You know, I was just listening to the system with the Futtermans and Goldmund table in it the other night, and I realized that even though the stuff is tweakier than a normal person should deal with, those pieces are the best money I ever spent. Period.

The Futtermans are easily the best sounding amps I ever owned, tube or solid state. Despite the fact that I had resigned myself to fiddling with them constantly, or sending them back to you yearly to be exorcised, I have put about 1000 hours on them and they sound just as great as they did when I first hooked them up. Their synergy with the Quad '57's is pretty amazing. Thanks.

Sure, the Goldmund table and arm sometimes drive me crazy (you warned me...) but its method of operation just amazes and pleases me. The T3F does look like something that might be attributed to Lirpa Labs in the Audio Directory, but it has been very reliable, and since I mounted a Transfiguration Temper on it, it has become my favorite source component. Thanks again.

As I said in a previous letter to you, I have come to regard you as an island in a sea of audio sharks, and a valuable resource in my continued enjoyment of music.
